Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made another direct appeal to the U.S. Congress and President Joe Biden on Wednesday for more offensive weapons that, if he gets them and uses them against Russia, will dramatically increase the likelihood of a wider war with NATO.
According to reports, Zelenskyy made his way to the U.S. by first hopping aboard a train in his country and making a high-risk trip overland into Poland, where he then got on a U.S. Air Force plane to the states.

“The President really believes that as we approach winter, as we enter … a new phase in this war, of Mr. Putin’s aggression, that this is a good time for the two leaders to sit down face to face and talk,” national security communications coordinator John Kirby, a retired U.S. Navy admiral, told reporters.
However, Reuters portrayed the visit somewhat cynically:
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy headed to Washington on Wednesday to meet President Joe Biden, address Congress and seek “weapons, weapons and more weapons” in his first overseas trip since Russia invaded Ukraine 300 days ago.
Prior to the Democrat-controlled Congress’ consideration of a massive (and massively irresponsible) spending bill in the neighborhood of around $1.7 trillion, Zelenskyy nevertheless seemed less than grateful: “We will pass it on from the boys to the Congress, to the president of the United States. We are grateful for their support, but it is not enough. It is a hint — it is not enough.”
Never mind that the American taxpayers have already footed tens of billions of dollars (much of it borrowed) more than all other NATO countries combined for weapons to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the American taxpayer-funded gravy train will continue, as Biden has pointed out.
“I look forward to signing the omnibus bill soon, which includes $45 billion for Ukraine,” he said, while also announcing another $1.8 billion of ‘security assistance’ that includes both direct transfers as well as contracts for future ammo supplies. In total, it will constitute “$2.2 billion in new support,” Biden said. The package will also include a patriot missile battery, Biden said.
There had been thoughts, questions that Biden would pressure Zelenskyy to make a (potentially bad) deal with Russia to end the war at any price. It didn’t happen, at least not in public. Instead unreserved US support to help Zelenskyy on battlefield.

Needless to say, all of the usual establishment politicians and their mouthpieces were all ga-ga over Zelenskyy, even as he insulted them with characteristic ungratefulness.

I do not care that Zelensky wore a sweatshirt and fatigues to meet President Biden. It wasn’t disrespectful or inappropriate. People are weird.
I will also admit to looking for where to get one. Made in Ukraine. https://t.co/MY9mNCcLwu pic.twitter.com/lF8Um48NJq

Zelenskyy doesn’t care what privileged people living in peace with running hot water & electricity think, he cares what his war-ravaged homeless cold starving suffering people would think seeing him gussied up in a western suit

But others noted that Zelenskyy was insulting on many levels.
This ungrateful piece of sh*t does not have the decency to wear a suit to the White House — no respect the country that is funding his survival.
Track suit wearing eastern european con-man mafia.
Our leaders fell for it. They have disgraced us all. What an incredible insult. pic.twitter.com/7WdLnqfYur

And let us never forget that the Bidens were making big money off of a corrupt ‘business’ deal in Ukraine via son Hunter, and not long ago.
Our political establishment has embraced Ukraine for a reason, and it has nothing to do with being “noble” or “doing the right thing.”
