In a statement issued on November 5, representatives of the United Nations Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) called for an immediate ceasefire in the Middle East, further noting that dozens of UN officials in Gaza have been killed by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) since the genocide began on October 7.
“For almost a month, the world has been watching the unfolding situation in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory in shock and horror at the spiraling numbers of lives lost and torn apart,” reads the statement, which was signed by 18 principals.
After mentioning the Israeli deaths that occurred at the start of all this, the statement goes on to highlight Israel’s massively outsized response, which includes “cutting for 2.2 million Palestinians from food, water, medicine, electricity and fuel,” calling this “an outrage, as is the disproportionate killing of civilians in Gaza.”
“In Gaza, according to the Ministry of Health, nearly 9,500 people have been killed, including 3,900 children and over 2,400 women,” the statement continues. “More than 23,000 injured people require immediate treatment within overstretched hospitals.”
“An entire population is besieged and under attack, denied access to the essentials for survival, bombed in their homes, shelters, hospitals and places of worship. This is unacceptable.”

The official death toll in Gaza has now exceeded 10,000 people, roughly 4,000 of whom were children – and the carnage, apparently, has only just begun.
All sorts of civilian areas of Gaza are in Israel’s crosshairs right now, including hospitals, refugee camps, shelters, places of worship like churches and mosques, as well as people’s homes.
After calling this “unacceptable,” the UN proceeded to report that 88 United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) have died so far at the hands of Israel’s military forces.
“88 UNRWA colleagues – the highest number of United Nations fatalities ever recorded in a single conflict,” the statement explains.
“We renew our plea for the parties to respect all their obligations under international humanitarian and human rights law. We renew our call for the immediate and unconditional release of all civilians held hostage. Civilians and the infrastructure they rely on – including hospitals, shelters and schools – must be protected.”
According to Gregory Daco, chief economist at EY-Parthenon, Ernst & Young’s global strategy consulting arm, the Israeli genocide of Gaza could end up costing the global economy upwards of $2 trillion when all is said and done.
What if we could reverse our life to the day before October 7th?
In the last 30 days more than 10,000 Palestinians got killed by Israel and more are still missing.

The UN Security Council has put forth multiple resolutions to put a stop to Israel’s actions. As expected, Israel and its Western “allies” (puppets), including the United States, have rejected all of them. This is to be expected since Israel controls it’s so-called allies.
On November 5, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directly turned down a request for a ceasefire while addressing crews at the southern Israeli air station Ramon.
“There will be no ceasefire without the return of the hostages,” he said. “This ought to be taken out of the dictionary entirely.”
