Joe Biden does not have control of his mental faculties, as he proved once again this week when he made a statement that has a direct and significant negative impact on our national security.
During an interview with CNN, Biden told host Fareed Zakaria that the U.S., under his “leadership,” has sent so many munitions to Ukraine that now the U.S. military is running low on many weapons needed to defend our own country.
“This is a war relating to munitions. And they’re running out of that ammunition, and we’re low on it… . And so, what I finally did, I took the recommendation of the Defense Department to – not permanently – but to allow for this transition period, while we get more 155 weapons, these shells, for the Ukrainians,” Biden the Brainless said.
The “shells” he’s talking about are the munitions used by Army and Marine Corps artillery units.
As Breitbart News reported further:
The U.S. has sent billions in military equipment to Ukraine, under what is referred to as “presidential drawdown authority,” which allows the U.S. military to transfer its equipment to other nations’ forces.
The Pentagon has insisted that it would not affect U.S. military readiness and that the equipment is coming from excess supplies. However, the controversial decision to send cluster bombs to Ukraine reveals exactly how threadbare those excess supplies are running to support a war that has been fought mostly with artillery.
The Biden administration has characterized the decision to provide cluster bombs as a temporary measure, pending the production of an adequate supply of 155 mm artillery rounds for Ukraine. The United States has encountered challenges in fulfilling this need ever since it commenced its support for Ukraine in the conflict with Russia, which commenced in February 2022.
And for the record, Russia has responded by saying its military would also begin using cluster bombs in Ukraine.
“This decision will ensure we can sustain our support for Ukraine by bridging us to a point where we are producing sufficient artillery ammunition on a monthly basis across the coalition,” the Pentagon’s top policy official Colin Kahl said during a briefing this week.
Although more than 100 countries have banned the use of the bombs under the Convention on Cluster Munitions, the U.S. and Ukraine are not signatories.

In his CNN interview, Biden said he thought that the Ukrainians needed the cluster bombs to keep up their so-called counteroffensive through the summer.
“The main thing is they either have the weapons to stop the Russians now – keep them from stopping the Ukrainian offensive through these areas – or they don’t. And I think they needed them,” he said.
Defense officials have refrained from providing a precise figure regarding the quantity of bombs being sent, opting instead to state that “hundreds of thousands” will be dispatched.
Kahl also actually argued that Ukraine’s use of cluster bombs was going to be justified, but Moscow’s use of them would not be.
“Russia has been using cluster munitions indiscriminately since the start of this war in order to attack Ukraine. By contrast, Ukraine is seeking [them] in order to defend its own sovereign territory,” he said.
He contended that the cluster bombs utilized by Russia exhibited a higher dud rate, leading to increased collateral damage, adding that the cluster bombs being supplied by the United States to Ukraine had a lower dud rate.
Furthermore, he highlighted that Ukraine has provided assurances to the United States that they will exercise caution and refrain from indiscriminate use of these munitions.
Of course, they won’t.
