Reports have emerged to suggest that immediately after telling the two million-plus Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip to flee to Egypt, Israel appears to have proceeded to bomb Rafah, the only border crossing that exists between the two territories.
The Times of Israel reported that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck an underground tunnel that it claims was being used for “smuggling weapons and equipment in the Rafah area, on the Egypt-Gaza border,” though the IDF did not officially confirm that it hit the crossing itself. Reports on the ground, though, say that Rafah is now completely impassable, which means the millions of Gaza residents who were told to flee before Israel’s planned ground invasion are now stuck like sitting ducks.
The Israeli military issued the warning just minutes before the bombing, meaning nobody even had time to react to it, let alone make plans to flee for their own safety. This is why many are now realizing that this is a planned genocide and ethnic cleansing operation that Israel is launching against Gaza that goes far beyond just Hamas.

Keep in mind that while the Israeli ground invasion of Gaza has not yet occurred – though it is in the works, according to Israeli officials – there have been hundreds of ongoing airstrikes taking place that are killing innocent men, women and children in Gaza who have nothing to do with Hamas.
“[T]he Gaza Strip is just over twice the size of Washington, D.C., but has triple the population,” one media report explains about how serious this is due to the sheer number of people currently occupying that tiny sliver of land that Israel desperately wants to annex and reclaim as its own after being driven out of the land thousands of years ago by God Himself.
The IDF insists that while it has been instructing the population inside Gaza to “distance themselves from designated areas” that Israel claims it is targeting in exclusivity, there were never any official calls for these people to exit to Egypt.
Where are they supposed to go, then? Will they all get shipped to Europe and the United States as migrants, or will they just die at the hands of the Israeli military? Time will tell, but this is clearly escalating into a very serious humanitarian crisis, the likes of which will more than likely shock the world once it all really starts to take shape.
NetBlocks shared a metrics update showing that internet connectivity in Gaza following the Israeli airstrikes has left the region in a total blackout situation.
“Rhetoric out of Israeli officials has continued to dehumanize all Palestinians in the strip in an attempt to provide cover for the mass bombing campaign of militants and civilians alike,” one media outlet warns about the dire situation.
“Netanyahu has long harbored plans to annex the Gaza Strip and move Palestinians to the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt,” one commenter noted about the matter, citing an audio recording of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak who spoke about a conversation he had with Netanyahu.
“Netanyahu once said … that there is a map showing the Gaza Strip and the territory near our borders, and began to consult if the population of the Gaza Strip moved to the Sinai Peninsula,” Mubarak said, adding that he refused Netanyahu’s offer.
“Forget it,” Mubarak told Netanyahu. “I, nor the one who comes after me, will be able to give up our territory.”
