At a recent Title IX hearing in the United States House of Representatives, National Women’s Law Center head Fatima Goss Graves offered her solution to female athletes who lose to male “transgender” athletes: Learn to “lose gracefully.”
Rather than simply keeping men out of women’s sports entirely, Graves believes the preferable option is for women to embrace their fake-female competitors who possess manly strength due to their male biology.
“The reality is that, like their peers, trans girls and women, they sometimes lose at sports and sometimes they win,” Graves told the room full of legislators. “And success in school sports depends on a whole range of factors including how hard you work and coaching and access to really good resources and facilities.”
Graves, by the way, is married to Matthew Graves, one of the key prosecutors in the January 6 “insurrection” cases. She also helped co-found the group Times Up, which exists to hold high-profile men to account for sexual misconduct.
“And trans students participate in sports for the same reason as other kids, because it is fun because it creates belonging and community because it teaches so much about persistence and leadership and discipline,” Graves continued in her testimony.
“Unless they learn to lose gracefully, hopefully. And often they learn to win with dignity, hopefully. They learn to do the sort of work that means you have higher grades and stay connected to school. I want every kid to have that chance to have the chance to play.”
Women’s rights activist says women athletes should “learn to lose gracefully” to appease the men who say they are women. Women’s rights don’t matter as much as men’s feelings.

Graves conveniently remained silent about the problem of boys and girls showering together naked in girls’ locker rooms, or boys and girls dressing and undressing with one another in the locker area. She also ignored addressing what female athletes are supposed to do when they lose opportunities to advance due to “trans women” taking their place.
Keep in mind that this is the same Fatima Goss Graves who previously indicated that she has no idea what a woman even is.
“Since you’re the president of the National Women’s Law Center, I was hoping that you could define what a woman is for us in this committee hearing,” Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) stated to Graves at a July 2022 hearing.
“What I’ll tell you is: I am a woman,” was Graves’ response. “That’s how I identify. I wonder, however, if in part, the reason that you’re asking the question is that you’re trying to suggest …”
Before Graves could finish the above statement, Clyde interjected that he simply wanted an answer, yes or now.
“Okay,” Graves then responded. “We’re not going to go there.”
“I was hoping maybe you would say something that maybe we learned in high school biology,” Clyde retorted. “It has to do with X and Y chromosomes … which define male and female, but I guess we’re not going to get there.”
The latest hearing at which Graves told female athletes to “lose gracefully” was held to consider making changes to Title IX of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to prevent schools from enforcing women’s or girls-only sports.
“It would bring a new understanding and interpretation of Title IX, removing protections for women and girls and changing that to protection against discrimination for gender identity as a protected class,” The Post Millennial reported about the proposed changes.
